My Beaaautiful *PINK* New LG KF350 Ice Cream Phone!

My hair is up to my butt now- longest it has ever been! It also comes with its disadvantages, such as dead cells so dead that it’s not even funny. My hair can spontaneously frizz up and entangle themselves causing others to mistaken me for the local beggar woman. So anyway, yeah, the story that comes with the picture:

This was taken yesterday on the North South highway when we were heading back to KL after our clinical paper. I roused from my slumber (Lie Yuen was driving for the first half as they didn’t want a Jolene-who-only-slept-12-hours-in-four-days-coz-of-the-damn-exams to drive), Poh Yee started laughing, “Jolene ge tau fat hou siu ah!!” (Jolene’s hair damn funny).

I know that I do have a tendency of having my hair teased when my head bobs about the headrest as I sleep. But I never knew that my now severely dry hair+damn long hair+lousy sleeping patterns can result in such a wtf state of affairs.

The tuft of hair was tightly knotted in so many places that I was worried I might have to resort to cutting it all off together. It’s not one of my ‘staged photos’, I couldn’t even achieve this effect if I tried.

I took my comb and gingerly combed through each knot and probably more than a few strands of hair were plucked along with it. I was really worried that I would be bald for Chinese New Year and end up looking like the Kappa.

What i’ll probably look like if I DID cut through that tuft of hair. ;\

On a side note, as soon as I reached Subang, I made a beeline to Wai Ping’s place to collect my spanking new KF350 LG Ice Cream phone! This time, I. get. to. keep. it. How freaking awesome. The prettiest gadget I’m ever asked to review..and I. get. to. keep. it. I’m thinking of getting a new SIM card for this phone so that I can use it for my ‘professional’ purposes, such as calling patients and answering sticker customers’ queries.

It even came in a proper box! 😀

Here’s one for those geeks out there who shiver at unboxing gadgets.

The surface is so reflective, can even see part of my dad’s car.

I seriously can’t stop looking at it. First, it’s freaking baby pink (though my first favourite colour is baby blue). Secondly, you can’t see it but it’s damnnnn thin. Like a piece of wafer!

The phone has an external display screen, but I’ll show that to you later when I’ve inserted the batteries.

My only criteria for a phone is for it to be a clamshell.

I’ll tell you more after a week of familiarizing myself with this answer to all women’s gadgetly prayers – but there is one thing I already know for sure. The large keypads?? DAMN AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Me text maniac, so it works damn well.

*** Updated with the FULL review: What A Girl Wants Is An LG KF350 Ice Cream Phone!

I Had The Worst Dental Student Nightmare EVER!!

As I type this, I’m still breathing heavily and my heart is still beating like mad.

So I was in a field, lying down with an old friend from standard 6, Brandon Tan. Of all people, I haven’t even seen him in years!! Asking each other the typical, “So what are you doing now?” etc etc. Then he got up to leave and joined some other friends from my high school.

So I sat there alone, having a few teeth in my hands, teeth that I needed for my practicals. This is something I normally do, collecting teeth for class.

In my dream, a few days ago, I drilled my own teeth for some class stuff. I needed to make some cavities for something academic related, but little did I know, I’ve already  went too deep and all my teeth were brittle so it kept chipping away.

Suddenly, I felt my lower lateral incisor getting mobile. It was milk teeth all over again. The entire tooth came out!! When your milk teeth comes out, it’s just the crown. This is the whole friggin tooth. I didn’t scream.

In my head, I recalled what I learned, “ok chill chill, just go grab a glass of milk.” By putting a tooth that has fallen out due to trauma, you can still preserve the supporting tissue by putting it in a glass of milk and then rushing to the nearest dentist to get it fixed back into the socket.

Now the entire dream is about my journey to get a glass of milk.

Then the scene cuts to the kitchen in my old rented house (the super dirty one, my classmates would remember that. Super famous among the people here for its grossness). I was staring at myself in the mirror. All my anterior teeth had big gaping cavities that I had put there myself.

As I moved one by one, each tooth started falling out, complete with roots and all. The central incisors, the lateral incisors, the canines. The premolars and the molars remained intact.

I was staring at myself in horror and my palm was gripping all the teeth that fell out. I could feel and taste that familiar bleeding socket where the teeth all felt out from. The gum in that area was totally flabby.

I fitted the front teeth one by one back into their sockets, but they were awkwardly placed. All those years of braces-wearing, gone just like that. I pushed it in, it stayed there for awhile before falling out again.

The premolars and molars then fell out and with that, I opened my mouth and blood and saliva started gushing out from my now flabby upper alveolar ridge. Which is not the case since it takes time for the alveolar ridge to get flabby if there’s no more teeth there. But the blood and saliva just gushed out and in my head I was like, “OMG OMG OKAY RELAX GET THE FREAKING MILK ALREADY.”

Then I fell backwards, and the teeth in my hand intermingled with the teeth I collected for class stuff in my other hand. It was gross but it was easy to tell my own teeth apart as they were much bigger and healthier looking than the ones I collected for class. But remember I said the kitchen was the one in my old dirty house? Ughhh.. hair and dirt intermingled with blood on the teeth and I was frantically picking them up from the floor, wondering if it’s too late to plop them into a glass of milk.

I stared at my flabby tissue in the mirror and closed my mouth. I looked like an old lady with no teeth. Sucked in cheeks and pursed lips and all. I was not devastated, strangely. In my head I was like, “Okay, will daddy be willing to pay for implants for me?” But I doubt it as implants is one of the reasons in dentistry that keeps me going. Few implants = one car.

We’re practically talking about the entire mouth here. Then I thought about dentures. And all the stupid stuff like denture stomatitis (arghh too much studying lol) cropped up. I was worried about plaque retention if I had to wear partial dentures, since some of my molars were still there, and I did not dare touch it, in case it starts getting loose and falls out as well.

I didn’t want to get dentures at such a  young age!!

I didn’t even think of going to the hospital but I stupidly told myself, “Okay relax, tomorrow got clinics with Dr. Khoo. Can ask him for help.” -______________- If it was a real life case, I would have gone straight to the ER if it was in the middle of the night.

I did something stupid in my dream, I washed my teeth under running water before putting them in milk. Bad move!!

it was then that I woke up. I was so damn glad it was just a dream but my chest was heaving painfully for the longest time, my breath came in short gulps, feeling super thankful that it’s not for real.

I WILL BE MORE CAREFUL WHEN I MAKE CAVITIES ON PATIENTS! In an alternate universe, teeth will chip off and fall out one by one..argghh.

Last paper tomorrow lol.

p/s: in my dream, I went to visit my nephew Ethan at his baby sitter. He could talk SO MUCH!! (he still can’t talk yet). He was conversing in english AND cantonese, and somemore got a very cool attitude, unlike a baby at all.

Why Exams Are Bad For You

Edited:

Oh oh! Forgot to tell you all I turned 22 on the 16th. And my dad turned 52. 😀 hahha. and a host of other people as well. I know I should have written an emo birthday post to myself, but only thing good about being 21 was the ability to win RM400+ in Genting.

In fact, quite shy leh to tell people I’m 22.

This is me trying to preserve myself, now that I’m aging and all. Futile attempts, I say. But nonetheless!

It’s time again for that horrible stuck-in-limbo feeling. The studying period seriously sucks more balls than the actual exam itself. Then when you receive crap results, you never actually think “Fuck wei.. shouldn’t have watched that many episodes of Gem of Life”. You would totally not remember what’s the reason of your less than filled up brainjuice. Though at this moment in time, you know that you’re supposed to be studying, but Chan Kai Fat with short hair is actually quite cute!!

I can think of so many more reasons why exams are totally damaging.

1. Eating Far Too Much

In a mad spurt of rebellion, I grabbed 20 mini packets of cheezels and two of the most gigantic cheezels packets you’ve ever seen (easily 30cm each) from Tesco. Three bars of Dairy Milk Roast Almond chocolate were thrown into the mix too. It’s part of the “During exam season, don’t care” program. So it was all good, chomping on mini packets of Cheezels while watching Gem of Life. La la la.. ooh the big packet looks tempting. About a quarter of my body weight in Cheezels later, i seriously felt like throwing up. The Dairy Milk Roast Almonds are staring collectively (there’s three of them remember?) at me whenever I open the fridge, waiting to be eaten. Exams seriously cause me to binge. I’m so sad that I grab at my tummy flabs in frustration. Got red marks now. 🙁

2. Diligently Watching Gem of Life

Though I’ve slowed down from the initial 4-episodes-a-day marathon, my daily dose of Gem of Life still holds! If there are no exams, I would be totally caught up with more stuff to do and PROCRASTINATE watching my TVB dramas. Can you imagine? When I don’t have exams, I can find other things to procrastinate! Does procrastinating fulfill me?!?!  Sigh Chan Kai Fat. Totally dig the bum look. Don’t tell me what happens next. I only saw until he rented the house with the intentions of kidnapping Mr. Suen!

3. Shopping Online

*foams at mouth*

I’ve been trawling through all the blog shops there are out there like the crazy deprived shopping monster that I am. Any moment now, money will be shooting out of my finger tips when I lose control. Think Peter Petrelli at the end of Heroes Season 1, when radioactive nuclear rays start firing from his fingers moments before he combust.

During the so called breaks (I think studying is more like the break from my internet trawling activities, rather than the other way around), I just go from blog shop to blog shop because I cannot go out to physically satiate these needs for new things. Sigh I sound so shallow right. But I’m a woman so bite me. It’s gotten so bad – I’ve even started looking at Singapore blog shops. YARGhhH. <– frustration coz means need to spend in SGD.

Some of the blog shops do charge ridiculous prices. Gone are the days when they would price their items below RM35. sigh. You can’t help but scoff at their prices (RM45 and above), especially when you’ve seen the exact same things at Sg. Wang going for only RM25! This only makes me crave for my proposed solo shopping trip to Sg. Wang.. to explore all the alleys of that (often underestimated) fashion haven and come out smugly with good buys.

Stuff for Ladies at the Lowyat forums have also taken up a huge chunk of my internet time! Great bargains from people who are letting go of clothes, cosmetics etc. I did a really eww thing though. But for the sake of saving money and merely testing the product, I bought two second hand Majorlica mascaras from this girl, claiming to be 95% full. RM50 for both, okay ah? ;\
I bought 6 pairs of awesome looking eyelashes from there as well! RM2.50 to RM3.00 per pair!

Oh yeah, and I vow to help this seller reach 20 orders before she can put down the orders for these gorgeous Agnes B. wallets.
I saw a Singapore blogshop selling it for SGD35, also preorder! And this seller is only selling it for RM35 and below! Our currency okay? Woots! Must totally support! She’s at 3 orders only, quick! I want my agnes b. wallet, so I’m forcing you guys to get one too. Heh.

This is the one I’m getting:

But online shopping has its downsides.. you can’t feel the material of the items and worse of all, if you’ve trawled enough malls, enough flea market, you’d know that some of the things are seriously overcharged.

I NEED TO SHOP OMG I WANT TO SHOP SHOP SHOPpPPPPPPPpppp.. god help me.

4. Taobao.com

LOL this one is quite funny. I’ve been having some stirrings to start up another small business. (SEE WHAT I TOLD YOU ABOUT EXAM SEASON! Argh!) It’s not actually a good idea, seeing how much effort i’ve put into The Sticker Monster.

Taobao.com is like China’s ebay. Absolutely gorgeous stuff at dirt cheap prices. Only one problem though. Tiny weedle bit of problem.

The entire website is in chinese. 🙁

My fingers are tired from the to-and-fro clicking between babelfish and taobao.

Well, thank god for willpower and the belief that conning is an awesome skill from china, right up there with kung fu and delicious cuisine. I didn’t buy anything though I’m damn tempted to!! Won’t say what, later you steal my idea!

But if you wanna take a gamble and can’t read chinese for nuts, there’s this guy who provides middle man services at Buyfromtaobao.com. He’s totally gonna make a fortune from poor bananas like me who have tiny money making ideas.

Have fun trawling through and hope you have the guts to go through with purchases from there!

As for the good things about the exam season..

..well only two.

1. I Finally Cleaned My Hamsters Cage (and I also give them frequent meals now)

The poor rodents have been sitting in their pee and poo for about a month now. (courtesy of Jolene’s leet procrastinating skill) They still seem to be happily running around, biting the metal bars, humping each other and sleeping throughout the day, so I didn’t really worry.

2. Sweeped The Floor

I can see the orginal colour of my floor again! Nuff said!

Alright, enough crapping. Time to get back back to the damn books.

Absolute Bazaar 2 – Who Will Be There?
